My husband and I are new to wine making and have made the mistake of adding Potassium Sorbate, thinking our wine was finished. (used a recipe from the neighbor who doesn't use the hydrometer) I then took a reading to make sure it was finished and it wasn't! It read 1.050! What do we do? Can we restart it?

I'm afraid it would be very difficult to get fermentation going again..
If you have made a small amount, you could continue to the end and then make it more alcoholic by adding a bottle of vodka !
But, at 1.050 it will be rather sweet.

It is a 3 gallon batch of our very first Frontenac grapes off of our vines. We had a freeze early this Spring which killed the earlier grapes and this was what was left from our late batch. Thank you for your reply. Lesson learned.
