what type of alcohol would you put in hot apple cider?

i might try cinnamon schnapps or vodka.
u could try your favorite alcohol...

Goldschlager-cinnamon schnapps is good. Spiced rum is also good.(Go Captain Morgan!)

Brandy, or even better Grand Marnier which is orange brandy that is sweet. Fantastic stuff. If you do just brandy try making a tea bag of cinnamon stick, orange peel, cardomom, and anise seed with a couple of cloves (like mulled wine). If you want a decent recipe look for my posting on Glogg (just do a search from the home page)

I just had some yesterday that was fabulous. He used a brandy called Applejack. it was by far the best hot cider i had ever tasted. and it didnt even taste like it had alcohol!!

Applejack is alcohol fermented from hard cider so it would figure that would go well with the cider. Glad you enjoyed it!

I'm confused. Isn't apple wine supposed to be fermented, or is this just another way of getting the same taste?
