So I found an open bottle of scotch in my fathers liquor cabinet after he passed. Its corked and in the box. The box states it's 25 years old and somebody wrote purchased in 1952 on the cork. Should I even try it? Is it safe?

Keep in mind that Scotch, unlike wine, doesn't change with time when it is in a bottle. It only ages when it is stored in casks.
