Do wines get darker as they age or is the brownish color just from the barol. I'm not talking about wines that are 5 years or older but more like 2.

A wine shouldn't be getting darker with age. At least, not a 'good' wine...

Brown color is usually a sign of spoilage or oxidation, especially in fruit wines. Some people use ascorbic acid in their fruit wines to prevent this (anti oxidant or vitamin c)

No the barrel char absorbs some of the liquid and takes some flavor away, lighter char-darker char changes carmelazation of the sugars in the wood and changes flavor. Reddish brown is I hope more due to your limits on color vocabulary, I would never drink a reddish brown wine, look at garnet, see if you can find a real one or a good pic and tell me is this what you mean> Like a more "brickish" color red but red, but not brown? In grape wine the color comes from skins. It does not change much in the barrel unless you get some evap.

Yea thats it what I was calling brown was light shadowing in the glass just like looking at the garnet some of the corners kind of look brownish but if you change angle of glass it moves around.
